Important and imposing console entirely made of solid mahogany wood.
The piece of furniture, resting on four "S" shaped legs, has a wavy front and sides.
The entire surface is finely carved with rocaille motifs, masks on the front uprights and winged griffins in the central part of the band.
Four mixed-line crosspieces connect the supports and converge in a mask that brings them together.
Note the great vigor of the carving which in some details demonstrates a real sculptural strength.
The contemporary top is in white Carrara marble with an owl's beak profile.
Naples, Louis Philippe period (mid-19th century).
