- A fine and rare pair of 19th century Continental faux painted miniature boxes. The boxes are painted in a faux … more A fine and rare pair of 19th century Continental faux painted miniature boxes. The boxes are painted in a faux marble with floral still life images on each top. The interiors are painted in a greenish hue. The first box bears the date February 9, 1830. The second is dated 1837 and has an illegible signature. The boxes are probably Swiss or German in origin. Condition is very good with age-appropriate wear. Circa: 1830 & 1837.
