Here is a vintage framed collection of Japanese Oshie dolls. Oshie translates as pressed pictures and is a traditional Japanese art form that dates back to the Edo period. Paper and sections of kimono fabric are hand pressed together for a three dimensional look. Here, 8 Oshie dolls are mounted on silk in a modern wood frame. A rare piece!
