This painting combines organic shapes with gestural brushwork that suggests the human form. Executed in oil on canvas, it reveals the textured grit of the artist’s process and the layered history of each mark. The open contour lines lend strength and a sense of spaciousness to the piece, avoiding overworked areas and emphasizing an economy of marks and shapes. The yellow-white hue adds a subtle glow, while the richly textured areas offer rewarding details for the viewer up close. Created intermittently over several months, this painting captures layers of painted moments, each suspended in time and space.
The painting can be oriented both horizontally and vertically and is signed on the back.
