Here is a framed 1967 limited edition artist’s proof of an owl by printmaker, sculptor, and educator Joseph Demarais. Signed by artist in pencil. 12 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches. Print behind mat and brown and gold wood frame. Includes a write up on the back with his old home address and phone number.
Born in 1927, Demarais first intended to become a jazz musician. However, by the late 1950s he had turned his attention to art. Public collections of his works are in museums worldwide, including the Central Intelligence Agency headquarters and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
