We are not sure if this was a primitive coal or ash buck, possible even an ice chest? What we do know is the wood grain is amazing and the warn, warm surface of the top is appealing to the eye. The top is warped, but we do actually use this piece as a bench as it is comfortable, sturdy and heavy. The warp is hard to detect unless you are eye level with the lid. Please see photographs for an overall representation of condition.
