Produced in two sizes, arcadia is made of grp, glassfiber reinforced plastic, a thermosetting plastic material made up of a dense weave of glass fibers impregnated with polyester resins. Arcadia is included among the design objects conceived by magistretti by exploiting the "resistance by form" system, a way of giving rigidity to plastic materials on the basis of the geometric configuration that is impressed on them, and a design concept already experimented in other projects, from selene chair, the chimera lamp, the stadio coffee table and others. The performance of grp, in particular its strong resistance to impacts, bending, scratches and high temperatures, together with its inalterability to atmospheric agents, also make it suitable for outdoor use.
