This hand knotted wool distressed vintage Turkish Oushak rug features a central lozenge pole medallion patterned inside with a diamond lattice outlined with alternating rosettes and leaves in an open abrashed terra cotta field. Each corner spandrel is adorned with Anatolian motifs and ambiguous symbols, imbuing the composition with a great deal of visual interest and overall harmony. It is enclosed with a botanical border composed of repeating rosettes and eight-point stars flanked with inner and outer crenelated fence guard bands and an inner s-hook guard stripe.
