Beautiful pastel by jeanne richard-vergne (1871-?) representing the virgin mary's escape in egypt. Wonderful landscape scene full of captured wonder and mysticism with the well represented night sky and its north star, warm fire, people seeking shelter and the pyramids of gizeh in the background. Framed under glass, frame in gilt plaster and wood. Signed.
in very good condition. Very slight warping of paper. Small lacks to the plaster moulding on the frame.
