'Nova' is an abstract figurative work showing a figure in a resting position. Designed to be minimalist, the beauty of this form is in its simplicity.
Sculptures created in concrete are made using a combination of layering and carving; addition and subtraction. Concrete is added gradually to a rigid frame, as it cures more layers are then added or removed as the form develops. A process requiring time and focus, often taking weeks or months to complete a single piece. The final result offers a unique work with a surface layer comprising of multiple layers meshed and intertwined together.
