Large handmade Spanish clay bowl "Lebrillo" painted with white and green terracotta glaze in a typical Granada style, diameter 49.4 cm | 19.5 inches
Fahalauz ceramics are in great demand and are collectibles. Drawings with birds and ornaments are more traditional. Geometric and complex patterns are not so common.
Traditional Granada ceramics are well known as Fayalause ceramics. Potters gradually settled in the city from the end of the sixteenth century to the present day, in the North Albaysin area near the gate of Fayalauz. The ceramic style got its name from Morales, the largest factory in Granada. Over time, the entire production of ceramics in Granada became known as Fayalause ceramics. The decor used on Granada ceramics comes from workshops and Moorish traditions.
We have the largest Lebrillo collection in Spain.
