This rare hand-tinted etched illustration from a late 1700's French botany collection of mycology is nothing short of extraordinary. This print is of the Argaric Campanulé, Agaricus, or Bellflower field mushroom. Agaric is a relation of the regular mushroom, but its tops are convex (or sometimes flat) with the gills on underside of cap.
Etched illustration was matched and inserted into an equally stunning antique Eastlake frame, which shows its age with some minor scuff marks to outer part of frame in some places (as seen in photos) which only enhances the overall aesthetic of this piece of art. Glass is not museum quality/glare resistant, so it is highly recommended to *not* hang/display in direct sunlight.
