Set of two traditional Japanese dining bowls in the distinctive Hagi ceramic style, from the 1970s-1980s.
Dimensions: height 8.5 cm, diameter 12.5 cm. The set features a kiln stamp.
The shape of the bowls, known as mitsuba (inspired by the three-lobed leaves of Japanese parsley), reflects a harmonious connection between nature and functionality.
These bowls are traditionally used during a kaiseki meal, a refined and ceremonial Japanese dining experience celebrated for its emphasis on seasonal ingredients, aesthetics, and balance. The mukozuke specifically serves smaller side dishes or sashimi, contributing to the visual and culinary harmony of the meal.
Beyond their traditional use, these bowls make beautiful decorative items. with their elegant form and earthy tones, they can also serve as candle holders, serving dishes for small snacks, or unique accents in a modern interior.
