David Hockney ( B 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's, he is is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solos exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
" Road and Tree Near Wetwang " is an image from " Midsummer : East Yorkshire ", originally presented by David Hockney as a series of 36 watercolor paintings. Hockney worked in pre-mixed color so he could work as fast as possible, and didn't allow himself the comfort of any underdrawing in pencil. The result has a fresh and vivid beauty.
The fine art lithograph print measures 22 1/2" W X 15" H. It is printed on 270GSM Accent Fresco, textured uncoated, manufactured from 100% ECF virgin chlorine free fibre, acid free paper stock with vibrant ink colors.
