It looks nice from the top surface to the bottom of the pedestal with a glossy finish for the most part. We were originally thinking that it may have been refinished at some point, but muriatic acid is used to clean all of the sinks and toilets that we offer. It dissolves the coating when the porcelain has had a coating applied, but it did not happen with this sink. The top, horizontal surface is good, save for some slight roughness on the right side, and a small area to the right of the left faucet hole that is scratched. The roughness can be felt, but the camera could not capture it, and there is a close up picture of the scratched area. The rest of the top surface running around the bowl and at the back is in very good shape with no discoloration, and only some faint scratches and very small chips to be found. The right faucet hole has some rust from a faucet that leaked. This was hidden from view when the faucet was present, and will be again when a new one is installed. There is "wear" to the porcelain at the bottom of the bowl created by water dripping from this faucet for years. It does not stand out all that much, and it took a close up picture to be able to show it here. The rest of the bowl is fine. There are no chips or discoloration, and nearly no scratches. The outside front and sides are very good. There is a small, shallow chip on the right side, and two on the left. These are very minor and would not normally be noticed if someone didn't point them out. The rest is excellent. There are other imperfection along the bottom edge that were found to be part of the makeup of the sink and are not damage. The underside is very good with relatively little corrosion present and the enamel is good. The original plumbing parts and the "waste" mechanism on the top of the sink were left intact, since they are original and look to be in good condition overall. The pedestal looks fine from all angles when the sink is installed. There are a couple spots where the porcelain has shallow chips on the bottom edge. The spot where the floor bolts are chipped, as is a ring around the top, a couple inches below the bowl. We do not normally repair sinks, but in this case the chips were filled and then painted. This would not be possible with the upper portion, but the pedestal is rarely touched, so it was safe to use the paint as it will not wear off. The repairing procedure produced good results. From a normal distance, all blends in well. There are three slightly darker areas on the front of the pedestal. These are not wear or damage, but are spots where the porcelain is thinner. This was done when the sink was made. less
