- This sink is in very good overall condition with very few chips in the porcelain, and it is relatively corrosion … moreThis sink is in very good overall condition with very few chips in the porcelain, and it is relatively corrosion free compared to others of this period. It wasn't until muriatic acid was applied during the cleaning process that it was discovered that it has been refinished at some point. Since this is a sink that is not readily made available and the fact that it is in overall nice shape made us to decide to list it. The price is $500 lower than it would have been if it had not been "updated" (and because we're picky). The refinishing took place several years ago and the top portion of the sink needs attention as it is rough to the touch. This is not evident in the pictures, as it is just white on white. The top horizontal surface and the bowl need to have the coating re-applied, unless one wants to go with it as it is, or paint it. There are several different porcelain coating products available at hardware stores and on-line. Aside from the roughness, the top surface and bowl are in very good condition with only a couple tiny chips in the bottom of the bowl and one on the left, top surface. The outside of the sink looks excellent with a nice glossy finish, no chips, and virtually no scratches to be found. The bottom looks good overall with very little rust present. The pedestal could be left alone since it looks very good all away around and from the top to the bottom edge that has had some small chips painted to help hide them. There are no cracks or chips and only light rust in spots on the inside. less
