A beautiful polychrome mirror with original mirror plate, hand-crafted in 19th century France. The finely carved rectilinear frame is stunning with crackled pigment of pale French gray and red bole, mixed with gold gilt molding for subtle flashes of light. The original mirror plate has developed a surprising foxed patina of dark squares in a neat checked formation behind the glass. Fixed to mount vertically on the wall, the mirror is symmetrical to hang in either direction. Please view the detailed images. less
