In expressive brushstrokes and bold use of color–lavender, maroon, and peach–the artist has captured the dense mass of petals characteristic to the flower–as well as their leaves! The raw canvas–left in a natural khaki color–forms much of the painting’s background by contributing to the tactile quality of the image. Set within a frame of similar age and condition, the reticulated texture of the molding is a perfect match to the painting. One eye hook on the back for wall mounting.
