Exquisite oil on canvas of an idyllic landscape; blue skies, beautiful clouds, nature infused with colorful vibrations and a lovely female figure, clad in western attire out for a ride on her horse, inhaling all of the beauty that surrounds her. Signed lower right by well listed Polish born California artist Stan Poray (1888-1948). Poray was born into noble affluence in Krakow, Poland. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and then later in Paris. n 1921 he arrived in Los Angeles, moving to Hollywood where he became well known in the Southern California art community. His works were shown at the prestigious Stendhal Gallery. Poray advised The Jonathan Club on its art acquisitions and donations and he was one of the founders of the California Art Club. His most commonly seen works are finely painted, highly decorative still life oils. See less
