On top of the lid is a fragment of the VOC brand stamp. Since the chest is typical from the 18th century and several matching stamps are known, we can say with certainty that the chest can be dated from the early 1700s. The chest comes with an official expert statement, drawn up by a registered appraiser. The chest has its authentic lock with key (functions well).
