- A modern cane wrapped barrel back accent chair designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar. The chair seat is upholstered in … more A modern cane wrapped barrel back accent chair designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar. The chair seat is upholstered in vintage Ruth Adler Schnee fabric. Circa 1960s. The mod circle design in orange, red, and hot pink adds a pop of color to any room, making it the perfect statement piece. In 1931, Edward Wormley began his relationship with Dunbar. By 1944 he became the Director of Design and carried that relationship through the 1960's. Beginning in 1950, Edward Wormley's participation in MOMA's Good Design Exhibitions helped to cement his reputation as a designer of great importance. Ruth Adler Schnee is a Cranbrook alumnus and her work can be found in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago and The Henry Ford Museum. Adler Schnee was awarded The Kresge Foundation's 2015 Kresge Eminent Artist Award for lifetime achievement in her introduction of post-war modernism to the Detroit area. This chair set showcases two modernist designers which is a unique furniture collection opportunity. From a private collection. The original manufacturer’s tags are on the underside of the table (see photo for reference). Dimensions: 30.25”h x 25”w x 20.5”d x 18” seat height x 19” seat depth x 13.25” back height x 8.5” arm height. In good vintage condition, with some marks in fabric that is consistent with age. less
