The desk was designed for the House Chamber. These desks were introduced in 1873. This wood desk has a leather like writing space and the lid opens for storage. Also, has an ink well with 2 bottles inside. There is a call button on the right front that was used when a representative needed to call/alert someone. Desk measures 34 1/4" tall on the back to 31" tall on the front. Depth is 21" and width is 24". This small desk has incredible history and will definitely be a great addition to your home. less
