Yurdaer Altintas (1935 - 2019) was a Turkish graphic designer known for his illustrations and posters, After completing his studies at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts he briefly worked for two advertising agencies, then began to work independently. He designed many posters and illustrations and his works were accepted in many graphic design exhibitions abroad. As an artist and an educator, Yurdaer Altintas is credited with putting Turkey's graphic design on the world stage.
The subject artwork is a reproduction of an original painting created to promote the Turkish Shadow Theater in 1971. It is believed to be part of a series that was printed by Kagit ve Basimisleri in Istanbul. It is an offset lithograph, matted and framed, under glass. less
