Charles Gaudry (1933-1980) was a renowned French ceramist, particularly active in the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Paris, he studied graphic art at the Beaux-Arts, then traveled to different countries before settling in the village of La Borne en Puisaye, a region renowned for its ceramic tradition.

His work is characterized by the use of pyrite stoneware, a ceramic with natural hues and rich textures, often marked with its distinctive character. Notable creations include potbellied pitchers with rustic shapes, teapots and tea sets, reflecting an aesthetic that is both raw and authentic.
