The work of danish designer niels otto møller, born in 1920 in århus, earned a reputation for consistent excellence in quality and craftsmanship. Møller's dedication to his craft stemmed from his studies as a furniture maker which he completed in 1939, followed by further studies at the århus school of design. In 1944, møller founded his own furniture production company, jl møllers møbelfabrik, in a small workshop in the center of his hometown. While overseeing traditional furniture production in his factory, møller continued to design himself. The no. 1 seat (1946) was the first result.
møller's chairs, such as the sculptural no. 55 and no. 71 (both from 1951), strongly represent, through the choice of materials and the soft curves, the scandinavian post-war vision of practical but well-crafted and engineered design.
this authentic chair, model 75, is one of the strongest designs from this manufacturer and is very popular today. It is in neat original vintage condition and still has the original papercord upholstery, which is completely intact. The entire construction has also been checked and is sturdy. The wickerwork in a light shade in combination with the beautiful teak wood creates a fantastic chair that is one of the true design classics, a beautiful jewel for your interior, a stable investment in your home or office. This chair comes from the first owners and has been cherished and used by them for years, a unique chair in original condition with a matching and unique patina, which can only be so characterful with original vintage items. We would particularly like to mention the neat woodwork and the original papercord seat. Be sure to take a look at the photos for a closer look at the condition and original condition. A truly unique and original chair for the true mid century modern enthusiast!
