The design of this vintage ashtray is attributable to the historic Italian glass brand "Arnolfo di Cambio", known for its almost sculptural glasswork, in which waves, rocks and other plant-like shapes embellish the structure of glasses, ice buckets and vases. Many important Italian designers have collaborated with this brand during the Space Age Era creating beautiful glass, such as Sergio Asti, Fabio Frontini and Colombo. The ashtray that I am offering for sale has a raised structure, like a pedestal bowl, composed of a chromed metal cylinder that supports and embeds with cigarette holder bars, a carved glass bowl. The bowl is very thick, made of 80% clear glass, alternating on the external band with a frost effect. The outer band shows a carved and bevelled decoration that reproduces rocks, or pieces of detached ice alternating the frost and clear finishes, and create "visibility" cracks and on the inside of the ashtray. This mid-20th century modern item is in good vintage condition, the chrome surface has been polished with a specific product and the glass part has no obvious breaks or imperfections. less
