Originally thrown by Kentucky ceramic artist, Janet Essenpreis, this earthy ceramic urn has been converted into a charming table lamp. The surface of the urn features a diapered pattern of three-dimensional "scales." The tiered pattern allowing for the ecru-toned glaze to settle within each scale, thus highlighting the higher relief edges in the brown tone of the stoneware. The "neck" of the urn is flanked by two curved handles with dimpled edges. An empire shade, covered in a pale kraft-toned paper crowns the urn.
The table lamp is in excellent condition and has recently been wired with all new components.
The lamp measures 20" in diameter and 28" tall. The shade alone measures 20" in diameter and 11" tall.
