roman ateliers in the 19th century produced vases in fine marble in imitation of ancient models, much sought after by wealthy american and european travellers. This one in particular takes inspiration from etruscan models and is made of fine red levanto marble, from the locality of the same name on the ligurian riviera of the 5 lands, known since the times of rome and today practically disappeared.
