Description: Francisco lópez salas: he was born in almería, spain, in 1884 and died in la lonja, province of buenos aires, … more Francisco lópez salas: he was born in almería, spain, in 1884 and died in la lonja, province of buenos aires, in 1972. His training in plastic arts was carried out in his native country at the royal academy of fine arts of madrid, being a classmate of picasso, sorolla and zuloaga. He was a founding member of the círculo de bellas artes of barcelona and professor at the academy of fine arts of the same city. In 1951, he arrived in argentina. His works were characterized by a traditional style and the privilege of landscapes and seascapes. Among his most notable works are the two murals made for the church of pilar and his oil painting “astilleros de la boca” for which, in 1956, he obtained the honor award from the naval center.
