Made with hand-knotted wool and originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, this 8x12 vintage Kars rug is from an exceptional mid-century curation of Turkish rugs in Rug & Kilim’s collection.
On the Design:
Particularly special is the rich saturated color, where beige-brown and cream white tones are among the stars that underscore a play of geometric medallions and patterns. There’s an exceptional yarn at work here, and some of the most delicious and earthy colors alike for a tribal shabby-chic work of its period.
