Wonderful double-handled vase in majolica ceramic, entirely hand-modelled on the lathe and decorated with an airbrush, with a couple on one side and a shepherd with donkey on the other, made by Matteo di Lieto, signed under the base "M. Di Lieto" with place of "Italy" origin. The vase has a globular bowl shape and conical neck, very similar to Rometti's Art Deco vases (famous Italian manufacture). Even the handles are in full deco style, made with a ceramic ribbon to form three delightful semicircles, one above the other. The decorations are the classic Vietri ones from the German period which recall many elements of the greatest master ceramists operating in Vietri such as Studemann, Dolker and above all in this case, considering the face and style of the subjects portrayed, of Irene Kowaliska.

Matteo di Lieto is a ceramist from Vietri born in 1920 and active in Amalfi, with his own factory called "Arte Ceramica Amalfi" opened in the early 1940s. This piece has an attribution mark,
