An expressive and skillful execution of a mid-century modern abstract panoramic landscape oil painting on canvas paper.
This elegant landscape, seaside composition highlights a uniquely clever blend of impressionism and abstract styles. It's rich in layers of color and detail. The color palette is masterfully layered; soft, and muted with strong touches of blue, orange, and pink. Confident brush work showcases a level of excellence, skill and an emotional connection to this scene. Overall, we see realism with a small "R" as many details are simplified for a more abstract, painterly feel. Nevertheless, the elements of art are informative and lend to an expressive narrative with an emphasis on theme, brushstroke and color.
The Renaissance period, Classicism and Cubism are primary references for my work. I always begin in the representational and let the work evolve into the abstract or remain representational. Although divergent in process, my work at its core remains connected to the inspirations from which they were conceived. The subject matter whether portraiture, figurative, still life or landscape are important. And yet, the true subject and passion always lies in balance, symmetry, structure, shapes and spacial relationships.

All organic motifs and symbols are for the delight and interpretation of the viewer. This scene has been featured on fine art note cards.
The vintage mid century wood frame is a lovely finishing touch for this magnificent painting. It's old, has some imperfections and age related wear.
