Every few years, I add a new piece or two to my Preakness Series. Baltimore's annual horse race for hopeful equine contenders and jockeys, owners and enthusiasts of the famed Triple Crown. This piece, Preakness Posterior, is a commanding piece, created with a palette of only three hues, so the focus can be on the intimate moment shared by the two subjects as they prepare for the race of their lives.

Often color is a distraction. In this piece, fashioned in my own batik style of realism, the lines of the fine specimen male and his doting jockey can be experienced without the noise of added color.

This print is 44x54" and is absolutely break taking in person. I was recently chosen for an invitation-only four month show at BWI airport in the International Terminal. One on only a handful of regional artists though the Maryland Federation of Art. If you flew through BWI in the fall 2019-spring 2020 spring, you may have seen the original hung in the BWI International Terminal Art Gallery and two others I contributed to that show.

This piece will be shipped out in a large mailing tube. Print is on Canvas and mounted pieces would be additional charges for this service of approx $600 including mounting and shipping to continental US. See less
