While living in Beaufort SC a few years ago we had a neighbor who approached me and wanted to discuss a painting she had inherited. She got it from her mother’s estate and told me it had passed through her family a few generations. She could remember it being in her grandparents home at the top of the stairs. No one knew where it came from but it was hers now and she said she had never liked it and neither did her daughter. Lucky for me I guess because I absolutely loved it at first sight. The composition and color and the movement of the image. And his strong and yet serene look. Unsigned as best as I can see. The frame appears to be original
