Offered for your approval is this 1930's KAPLAN PROJECTOR CO. 35mm vintage film movie projector head. This unit is fully restored to the highest level and is a remarkable find. It is presented on a full 35mm reel of film, serving as a display base, whose film is partially threaded in the projector mechanism for display purpose.
Samuel Kaplan ran The Kaplan Sure - Fit Company, which sold 35mm projector parts and accessories in the 1920's for the Simplex brand projectors.
In the early 1930's Kaplan's company developed their own projector and now became the Kaplan Projector Company. This company, with Kaplan as the director then became the Century Projector Company in 1938 and the Kaplan machines were now called Century Projectors, Model 'K'. So the Kaplan branded projectors, as such, were only made from the early 1930's to 1938 and are considered rare and impossible to find.
This Kaplan projector head is serial number 2896 and has matching numbers.
The lamp-house, film reel magazines, external rotating shutter and pedestal are not included in this offering as the heart of these projectors, the projector head, is what collectors are really after and they make a beautiful and significant display, using only moderate display space.
The paint and finish are of extreme high quality and any 'bad spots' that appear on the paint surface in our photos are merely reflections from a highly machined and glossy finish, textured surface.
We have not seen another like this in our many years of collecting Cinema Antiques. This unit is quite heavy being made out of very solid stainless steel for the most part. The last projector photo shown is of the Kaplan with an optional reel of 35mm film, set on top for an interesting display look.
A dramatic old tech piece whose perfectly finished complications are a pleasure to behold.

Due to the nature of online photo reproduction we cannot be responsible for exact photographic color, hue, contrast and flash and non flash exposure accuracy in our photos. While we do our best to display photos that are as accurate as possible, our photos may or may not depict the absolute EXACT hue or color tone of our Antiques due to the many variables in image photography, image exporting, image uploading and viewer monitor accuracy. Please ask about color tone and hue BEFORE buying, if this is a concern!
NOTE:
In the interest of Vintage presentation and historical accuracy, we do not alter or modify our electrical, optical, mechanical or electronic Antiques, with the exception of some vintage light fixtures (which we DO correctly convert internally to modern electrical working household standards). Therefore some electrical and mechanical items MAY or may not perform and operate. We sell these as accurate display and collectible Vintage items. We suggest that these artifacts be used for display and not be operated. Please ask for more details on operability of our electrical and mechanical Antiques if operability is a concern.
