Beautiful cast ceramic sculpture, polychrome, enamelled and partially glazed, depicting a loving little girl with a basket and large hat, … Read more Beautiful cast ceramic sculpture, polychrome, enamelled and partially glazed, depicting a loving little girl with a basket and large hat, in nineteenth-century clothes, made by the important Austrian manufacturer Goldscheider, signed and numbered on the back with incused mark. On the base there is also the artist's signature printed in italics: "Lefont". Note the highly effective contrast between the parts left opaque and the parts vitrified. The sculpture is made in full Liberty - Art Noveau style, and can be dated between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, we are talking about a sculpture that is over 100 years old. Furthermore, the polychromy is very delicate, giving the object a wonderful flavor of evanescence, a real touch of class that makes the sculpture diaphanous and soft in colours, recalling the impressionist style of the late 1800s.
