This original oil painting by Etta Benjamin Cien features a gothic door and stool. The vibrant paint brings this truly unique scene to life. Original handmade gold painted wood frame with linen. Signed by artist "CIEN".
Etta Benjamin Cien (1924 - 2010) was born in St. Louis, MO but spent much of her life and professional career in Hollywood, CA. Etta Benjamin Cien's mid-century modern style artwork has become sought after in recent years.
Etta and her husband gained national acclaim for "The LeRoy Brothers," a marionette act during the vaudeville era. The LeRoy Brothers opened for Danny Thomas and such acts as Jimmy Durante, Louis Armstrong, and many more.
In Hollywood, Etta's art career blossomed when she opened "Hillside House of Originals," a framing store and art gallery where she and her husband sold their own sculptures and paintings. Their business expanded to include other artists' work with showrooms in major metropolitan cities across the U.S. less
