Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this 8x10 rug is from the custom-classics Burano Collection by Rug & Kilim, and is inspired by antique rugs with a particular affinity for large-scale palmette floral patterns—with some influence from 18th century Caucasian rug designs.
On the Design:
In this piece, a chocolate brown field underscores an intricate series of palmette floral patterns in shades of ice blue, red, gold, and beige. The main border favors light gold undertones, while its inner and outer borders enjoy similarly bright hues to the field, but in a meander of s-hook motifs (a well-traveled motif among many provenances of Caucasian, Persian, and Turkish rugs). It beautifully recaptures the regal presence of the most special Persian rug styles in a new high-end quality with vast applications. It’s an intentional contribution to a classic for a more contemporary level of comfort, and one of the many beauties that makes this collection a sophisticated, smart new language in design. less
