I am having so much fun making these little seats for kids bedrooms! Each one is different. This is a pink turtle out of high grade embossed velvet. His name is Terry and says so on a name plate nailed along the bottom edge. So far this guy has siblings of a flamingo (that would be Frank, also listed here), two elephants(sold), a paint horse(commission), a giraffe and an octopus, but many more are on the way so keep checking in!
The base is 3/4 inch plywood that I often save from leftover pieces from construction work, otherwise 16" x 16". The foam is super High Density/Compression and is 6" thick. Depending on what legs I use, the bench will be about 9 inches high. The legs here are two long rails of hardwood, very sturdy.
Your child will love having his own special seat in the house! It's light enough to be carried into the living room when guests are taking up the other seating. If Terry or Frank are not exactly what you want, please let me know what your kid's favorite animal is and let's see if it's doable. This is a new series for me and I love, love, love creating them!
