The Ridgway family of potters were one of the most important dynasties in Staffordshire pottery manufacturing, beginning in the 1790s to the late 20th Century.
This paneled, octagonal shaped jug shows an overall sheet transfer print of florals and fans in the typical Imari palette of bittersweet red, salmon, and cobalt blue.
Traces of hand applied gold can be seen to the upper rim and on areas of the transfer print.
A shaped applied handle, and a footing echoing the sided body.
7.5 inches from handle to spout, x 5 in. in diameter, x 7.5 inches high.
A faint printed makers mark on the bottom.
