This mukōzuke is decorated with flower illustrations in underglaze iron oxide. Above, a shrivelled and semi-translucent glaze displays 'kairagi' (literally, “plum-blossom bark”) which coats the cup. This glaze effect is most pronounced around the heads of the flower illustrations.
