Original Rookwood Pottery Vase by Artist Lorinda Eppley, decorated with a subdued floral design, brown and blue flowers under porcelain glaze. This vase measures 12.5 inches high, top opening of 4 inches diameter, 6 inches in diameter at the widest, and the bottom is 3 1/2 inches.
Marked with the RP die-stamp, XXX for 1930, shape number 216, and the cypher LE of the artist.
Lorinda Eppley was at Rookwood from 1904 to 1948, She attended the Cincinnati Art Academy and Columbia University. She began her career as an artist at Rookwood pottery in 1904. She is best known for her soft pastels in Jewel porcelain Glaze. The Cincinnati Museum of Art has the largest collection of Rookwood art including this artist.
