born in alba in 1874, giovanni rava made his debut in 1899 at the turin promotrice with an academic head of an old man, linked to the teaching of his teachers, g. Grosso and p. Gaidano. He then dedicated himself to landscapes in realist forms and developed a personal impressionist touch. He exhibited assiduously at the promotrice and at the main turin events. In 1912 he exhibited in rome a group of views and some war episodes, which he had created in libya during the italian-turkish war. Between 1920 and 1921 he lived in latin america. In 1921 he exhibited some paintings on the views of alba at the circolo degli artisti in turin, a type of subject that he continued to tackle throughout his career. Rava died in 1944 in agliè canavese. This piece has an attribution mark,
