Antique Chinese Cloisonné Hinged Lid Box | Turquoise Enamel | Shòu Longevity Symbol | Intricate Brass Details | Footed Base | Marked
Cloisonné enamel was developed during the 10th century. A glass enamel was applied between small ribbons of metal on a metal base. It is stunning and highly collectible.
This beautiful quality antique rectangular shaped Chinese cloisonné box has a hinged lid and displayed on brass ball footed base, and is impressed marked CHINA on the bottom. The vibrant turquoise blue base color is eye-catching and decorated with an intricate and even brass fish scale pattern, brass border, and in the center a traditional Chinese auspicious symbol for Longevity (Shòu). When you lift the lid it features the beautiful turquoise enameling with a center divider creating two separated sections. It has a nice amount of room for trinkets and treasures. Fine details throughout and delicate quality craftsmanship. It looks amazing on display, and is truly a stunning piece.
