Her artistic work, like that of many others of her generation, is steeped in social criticism and Mozambican nationalism. In his artistic work, his vivid paintings reflect a dual identity that has always been the common thread in his work.
Blending Western influences and her mother's Mozambican roots, her original and explosive use of colour and subject matter has resulted in extraordinary abstract constructions, which she has often combined with salvaged materials to gradually establish her own identity as a painter.
In Rome, an exhibition of the artist's work is currently being held at the Palazzo delle Civiltà.
