Space age model 4997/5 dining table in very good condition. This rare and collectible table, particularly in its unique green color, is a true gem for enthusiasts of 1970s design. Designed by anna castelli ferrieri and ignazio gardella. Model 4997/5 was crafted by the iconic italian brand kartell between 1969 and 1979 and is highly sought after. This spacious table is constructed from reinforced polyester resin, a material choice that highlights both the futuristic aesthetics and practical innovation of the era. The robust resin construction ensures durability while maintaining a sleek, minimalist profile that makes it a statement piece in any interior. The table has a beautiful oval shape and measures 230 x 150 cm. This model is very hard to find, especially in this green color. It is exhibited in the museum of modern art (ny) bibliografia/literature: e. Ambasz (ed.), italy: the new domestic landscape. Achievements and problems of italian design, the museum of modern art (ny), exhibition catalogue, centro di, florence 1972, p. 47 (ill.). The architect anna castelli ferrieri, born in milan in 1920, is one of the few successful female designers in italy. In 1943 she completed her architecture studies in milan and opened her own studio in 1946. Castelli ferrieri became particularly well-known for her designs in plastic. She designed numerous pieces of furniture for the kartell company, whose company building in binasco she created in 1966. She died in milan in 2006. Ignazio gardella (milan, 1905) was born into a family of five generations of architects. He began studying civil engineering in 1931 at the milan polytechnic and graduated in architecture from the iuav in venice 19 years later. He is considered a pillar of the third generation of the italian modern movement and stands out for his embodiment of italian rationalism. Architect and industrial designer, ignazio gardella has an extensive portfolio of architectural designs, as well as lighting and furniture pieces, being co-founder of the design company azucena. this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
