This is an absolutely breathtaking antique American Empire flame mahogany chest, most likely built between 1815 and 1840.
It is … more This is an absolutely breathtaking antique American Empire flame mahogany chest, most likely built between 1815 and 1840.
It is solid, sturdy, and spacious! It features four well-constructed dovetailed drawers with dovetailing consistent with the time period, cannonball feet, and plenty of surface space. Also has an additional section with three more drawers that just sits atop it. May not be original to the piece. The top drawer is positioned a little further out from the other drawers in the classic American Empire style.
Amazing shape for its age, although it does have some cosmetic imperfections consistent with that age.
