A fine porcelain ginger jar electric lamp conversion hand painted in the traditional Imari palette. Main colours are rich blues, vibrant oranges and white highlighted with gold. A profusion of chrysanthemums decorate the piece. So Imari in every way.
Mounted on a carved dark brown rosewood stand.
Signed on the underside of the stand "Made in Hong Kong" together with a hand-engraved reference number. Pieces like this are no longer made in Hong Kong - a little bit of history!
Excellent condition.
Early to Mid 20th Century.
