Polychrome terracotta work depicting a mythological subject, the bust of the God Pan, of great quality and personality with an almost grotesque character. Non-Olympian deity with the appearance of a satyr or faun represents the force of nature. The word panic then derives from its name, since if it was disturbed it emitted terrifying screams causing uncontrolled fear.
