The glass is supported on 2 levels by a metal construction. The irregular shape of the glass ensures a beautiful distribution of the light.

During his career, Austrian designer JT Kalmar designed lighting fixtures for many renowned architects, as well as for important institutions, e.g. the Vienna Opera and the Vienna Stock Exchange. In the last decade of his life, Kalmar developed a number of very popular lighting collections, including Tulipan (ca. 1960), Ice Glass (1960) and Atomic (1969).

Kalmar lighting can be found in prominent locations around the world, including the RMS Queen Mary 2, the Kremlin Presidential Palace in Moscow and the Burj Tower in Dubai. This piece has an attribution mark,
